False Being – Written Tuesday 24th September 2024 (Aged 49)

False Being

people –
so often want to reduce you –
to fragile parts,
convince you –
that you are the problem.

stripping you back,
or taking you back to scenes –
where there was –
so little self-esteem.

and it takes something in life –
to overcome that –
and to step above –
the false being that they turn you into,
the one –
that more fragile parts of us –
believe you are.

but it takes life experience,
strength and courage –
to know you are not that person.

so do not let people’s brokenness
become rocks,
that tumble down and bury you.

so much easier said,
actions hard to undertake.
people –
tied to self-destructive fates,
greedy people embracing hate.

resist all attempts to become a false being,
the type they want to break.
