Does Self Belief Bare Its Teeth?
does self-belief bare its teeth?
is it guided by an ego,
barely hidden underneath?
i just do not know.
and it’s not like i wake up in the morning,
dripping with the idea i am amazing.
but the hunger to do better?
well, that’s never truly fading.
but should self-belief bare its teeth,
or should it be quite mellow,
with its teeth white? or even yellow?
and what is ambition anyway?
is it about the why and the when,
as trauma looks for a way to mend?
i wrestle all of these ideas to the floor,
and as i do,
we roll over and tumble towards a different door.
does self-belief bare its teeth?
does it finally lift off all of the sheets,
to show us all what really lies underneath?
