Let Go Of The Chain
Let go
of the chain,
but even then
it wraps itself around me
far too tight.
Let go
of the chain —
and when,
when will I feel “alright”?
When will life blossom once again?
I know,
I know I am a mischievous bundle,
one of creative ideas
wrapped up in trauma
and loosely held pain.
Let go of the chain,
but even then
I am entangled,
like everything is just too tight.
Why is life
such a mental struggle and fight?
I need superior days.
Let go
of the chain.
Untangle me
so that I can breathe once again.
