Notions Of Happiness
There has never been a “simple” idea of happiness.
There have always been distractions,
the type that churn up
what lies inside.
And that is not to imply that depression is rife,
or even an epidemic,
but it feels like we never know what is right.
And then,
in days
when the years were much less,
we would sit around and hope for the future,
suckling on checklists.
Because inside, whatever you are made of
and whatever exists,
at some stage, it turns
to a form of personal turmoil
which disturbs
the notion of happiness.
