Cycle Back
I cycle back —
emotionally,
I close a gate;
step down.
I stop,
I pull down the shutters;
be careful
about the doors
I leave open.
There is a pile
of something
which is broken.
So,
I step back.
People are like the trees
caught in storms;
and, truth be told,
people are no more
than paper planes —
ones
so easily torn
in the rain.
And like a retreat
I change direction;
I use my feet,
because…
this is enough.
This is enough.
