Talents Elsewhere
I don’t know…
there is always a feeling
that I had talents —
that shone
elsewhere.
But malaise,
on this occasion,
is a shining light
in hallways
that are my age;
in rooms
that are painted
in rage.
I don’t know…
I smile kindly,
but I move
from place to place
almost blindly.
I don’t know…
I feel
such vague connection
as malaise
shines bright,
and as it tries
to light
the direction.
But don’t misunderstand me —
this is not unhappiness;
this is not
how these thoughts
should be framed.
But…
but all the madness
of people
feels like
an unrecognised
shame.
