how long have i really been here
years,
they don’t seem to mean that much

people only tell me –
when it goes wrong

i cannot harbour needless things
or seamless seams
i can’t harbour ambiguous conversation

i said, don’t speak
but speak you did
to be true,
we only play hide and seek

i made my mind up –
to be somebody else
surely,
i would not be myself
