caught my emptiness
and filled it up inside

and now, i have completed my turn
danced as a complete fantasy,
a moment to relieve the tedium
of a relationship cooked on medium

these days are strange
but i would not rearrange my things
and i still dream of the impossible
someone to sweep me off my feet

questioning my love for you
hurt
gouged at the eyes of my love
which has always seen you so clearly

some may mistake this
as a low point in my life
that i lack happiness or contentment
or that i live in strife
but this is my emotional make-up

how people treat
sometimes comes as a surprise
deeply sensitive
not hard to hurt inside
to find the inner sanctum
no need for crowbar to prise

raindrops in the window box
rainbows in the sky
let’s wonder –
where we go when we die

more difficult life moments
should not be made up
to wear the clothes of shame
applied with make up
which suggest some blame

a part –
that tripped out on your beauty
you innocence and care
the life you have led
the nature of your hair
and the dreams to which we are all wed

you took apart
my lego heart
not with intention
or malicious direction
