everyone –
is a poetry escapee
not me,
it’s self flagellation
and a cell without a key

why did i look up to these people
i must have thought…
no,
i admit it,
i did think they were unobtainable

and i know,
emotions –
rarely have precision

heavy trees –
swayed in my world today
and rain lashed my mind

it was that awkward conversation
the type,
where people are trying to stop you –
from digging up the past

twenty something years
tumbled into,
thirty something tears
