Learned Helplessness
irrational thoughts, maybe,
but they dance,
and lead me under duress,
i then wonder if self diagnosis
is just really learned helplessness

Learned Helplessness
irrational thoughts, maybe,
but they dance,
and lead me under duress,
i then wonder if self diagnosis
is just really learned helplessness
who am i,
friend or foe
will my imaginary friend
every really let go
what are you hoping to achieve
by stirring up hate
why is nihilism,
so tied to your fate
there is no point in looking for yesterday,
it has come and gone,
and the only imprint left is that of memories
scribbled my name
and i spent years of my life
doubling down in shame
i have always been an autumn
turning over the leaves
my self esteem and self view,
as thick as thieves
a world,
without eyes
or just one view,
taught to them,
sat upon a pew
i see some people standing by
licking an ice cream,
who can we be,
in this semi fictional world
mired in complex structures and verse
i am in those places,
in spite of…
not because of…
my belief systems lays down in the landing
i always hope,
people are understanding
