Do We Remember?

we try to remember falling in love
we try to remember those days
that went by in a flash
in the midst of desolation
we try to call them back
but we scream in vain
the tears cannot fill the cracks
or wash away that ingrained pain

we try to remember falling in love
the first time that we kissed
the days when our hearts ached
the time we were first missed
when we were happy prisoners of fate
or so we thought
let’s try to fall in love again
if only old feelings could be caught
