When Do I Say Goodbye – Written Sunday 1st January 2012 (Aged 36)

When Do I say Goodbye

when do i say goodbye
normality versus fantasy
false hope,
against cold hard realism
all my adventures,
relationships, jobs, even people
none have prepared me for this pain
this event –
makes them seem like a child’s game
my sadness roams around my rooms
we try to smile,
but we know the end is coming soon
there is no future
it is beyond hurt
seeing you slumped by death’s door
it is beyond tears
it is all my lost hope
and all my fears
when do i say goodbye
when does present tense
actually become post
i wish i could help you
you look at me with such love
it is there, locked deep inside your eyes
but there is nothing i can do
and tears us all apart
but wherever you travel to now
you will not leave or ever leave my heart
