Thirty Years Too Late?

it was a conversation
that has arrived;
some thirty years too late
better late than never?
it was a conversation
that made me think
pulled me to a different place
i should have been told
as a child –
maybe then my self belief 
would not have ran wild
it was a conversation
that had arrived –
in the midst of desolation
some thirty years –
after I needed its consolation
