Could I Be Paranoid?

perhaps i have to try harder
maybe life
needs an insider
perhaps i need to prove –
myself more
maybe i do not understand
the clause
the pause
the ebb and flow of fate
the fuel of anger
the propulsion of hate
the cleansing of a slate
perhaps i am the back up plan
the rejuvenated member
of the final lost clan
the weather –
gently cooled by a relaxing fan
i need to know
which way it rains
and if i cling to a weather vane
are there any meaningful gains
perhaps i have to try harder
