Hurting Inside

it is hurting inside
i lock the door
and keep everything out
i will never lose myself
inside myself
a victim of my own mind
it is hurting what happened to me
locked me away as a prisoner
for a couple of years
for a crime i did not commit
it happened to a lot of others too
if it is hurting inside
i guess it happened to you
did it happen to you?
did someone take away something
it is hurting inside
they can take so much
it can be hard to rebuild your pride
and regain a sense of dignity
hurting inside
