Stand Up and be Counted
your failings
fell from my heart
impaled themselves on the railings
the ones
i try not to raise
every time I let people in
but you cannot be saved
your failings
washed up on my shore
the unwanted cargo from a past
that i had seen before
they can ache to believe
try to grasp at a positive future
your failings
looked like a beautiful sunset
when viewed from afar
but up close
they staggered and clung to the bar
you know I had seen them before
in people that I have known
personal feelings
are the hardest one to give
however when people take them away
they are so sorely missed
