The Weight of Vanity
let society –
drown in its own vanity
do you think about capitalism
do you think –
that’s rich
let society crash –
holding a selfie stick
where no more is left
every ‘man’,
thinks he is losing space
ever woman
is weighed down by her, ‘make-up’
made up on her face
and if you are so sad
weighed down,
by fears that you will fail
the just watch everyone –
on the campaign trail
let society –
drown in its own vanity
take stock –
of your own profanity
the real ale and the real wine
they do nothing for sobriety
