Invisible Ink
i would like to be there to hold you
i would like to be where he is
but all i can do is write away my hours
i have got no money
so i will just draw cartoon flowers
cut them out and give them to you
with a postcard with a poem
showing a town by the sea
the poem will be written in invisible ink
because i am scared to speak
scared to say what i think
and as the town grows and changes
the postcard will always remain the same
how i count those times
those few times i have held you
i draw a cartoon picture of you
but it would never do you justice
and with my cartoon flowers
i am afraid it is all I have to give
i would like to make your headaches better
show you a postcard of my life
but i might as well write you a letter
with that invisible type
this is what i really think
i should have written it in invisible ink
