Upside Down Me
being me –
too often has been the long way round
straight then backwards
and then upside down
these remarks i make
have paved a courtyard
of a place that i know too well
being me –
when i fell –
when i staggered home half drunk
when i scrapped my hope
some convinced me that it was not all junk
do you know –
what i really think
do you think i have wandered around –
never having an opinion
being me –
has come with such a complicated cast
romance and dance
and a longing for faithful lust
finally float this dinghy or boat
apply a coat and remove its rust
