When The Honeymoon Runs Out of Honey (And the Moon No Longer Cares) – Written Friday 13th March 2009 (Aged 34)

When The Honeymoon Runs Out of Honey
(And the Moon No Longer Cares)

it is funny how people can see –
single life as complicated
i see relationships as complicated
they surprise me –
the way people treat each other
like a present –
yet when unwrapped
they do not like what is inside
and they try to give it back
be a wife…
a reflection of values raised upon
be a husband…
fit into that role, play along
blame others –
when attention is sought elsewhere
when the honeymoon runs out of honey –
and the moon no longer cares
it is funny how people can be
the way they frame the world
life sure is as complicated as they make it
be yourself, stop fighting all the time
for no reason ever –
somehow, we have to put it all together
