i have not worn a poppy
in that sense i am not contributing
to this unhealthy patriotic might
that i should remember
this, one of many conflicts
poppy wearing
has being taken hostage
by latter day st george’s
with their misguided belief
in national causes
poppy wearing has become waring
i suspect these type of poppy wearers
are rarely ever truly caring
