(Blanket) Actions Speak Louder Than Words

I would like to open my eyes
and be wide awake
to all that’s helpful in this world
give me a blanket
to keep out the cold
I would like to meet that person
the one that does not exist
only in the imagination
where reality is not real
give me a blanket

I would like to live long good years
raise a child and grow old
at least sometime in the future
I would like to see the world
to be at least half safe and at least half well
so my children can run safely
and not spend das throwing pennies
down a garden wishing well
