The Crying Sound

they want to marry
and just settle down
have their babies
listen to the crying sound
they are young
but act as if –
the race has already run
they want to love
but love comes –
in so many guises
with stuck fixed views
they do not like surprises
so i ran very fast
with hope fading
and a long to last
not this play –
of which i was cast
i am still young
who knows how –
much more i have
