Social Media Replaces Loved One

social media replaced loved one
it does not challenge,
like a close friend
would never examine
social media is the lover people turn to
it is the parent,
with absolute approval
it is the care giver
without painful removal
and when people do not want –
an answer back
or to be challenged,
there is a world of confirmation bias
that need never examine
i watch people –
turn to it for comfort
enticed by its faceless electronic virtual appeal
it takes away false doubt,
and replaces it with a false way to feel
social media is who we turn to for comfort
I would like to be that comfort…
we would all like to be that comfort…
