Where did My Poems Go?

did we leave behind childish hope
where did my poems go
did my immature love elope
did it melt in the snow?
what happened to hopeless belief
did it get lost
when i lost my milk teeth
what happened to the young man
who built a shrine to depression
who spent too long
spelling out the word progression
where did my poems go
did they grab me by the hand
and lead me to a different land
what happened to wide eyed belief
before it caught a cold
and lost its voice
what became of hobsons choice?
where did my poems go
the ones i used to write
as i chased down daytime
and consumed pieces of the night
