Turn Down the Dial

turn down the dial
mine is stuck

i love you,
and the paths we have taken
turn my dial
it has always been broken

love,
is the laps we have completed
remember,
when close people had their,
life defeated

turn down the dial
mine,
has always been too high

i find myself no friend,
to harsh light
i would like the shade
to leave me, more made

i love you,
as i have done all these years
as we clamber
up life’s mountains
and roll down its hills

if only my dial
was no bright
