your dreams
may not be made of gold
or even silver
your journey in life
may be subject to, stand and deliver
you may,
tumble down stairs
whistling traditional songs
your dreams
may not be made of gold
paper mache may have to suffice
that is the way the story goes
when you are narrating life
your hopes
may not dry
soaked as they are in tears
you cannot always remove the stains of fear
you dreams
may not be made of gold
