The Music Plays On – Sunday 18th October 1998

The Music Plays On

the music plays on
life’s bittersweet tune is never gone
even when we fall
the ballad of the angels
is not one i hear
the melody of mischievous imps –
seems always near
its humour is in no doubt
but its blackness is so bleak
the instruments never stop
they conspire to be out of tune
yet still they work together
the melody of life is rich
but its meaning is a bitch
life’s bittersweet tune carries on
the chords clash but are never gone
the angels play but no one hears
if they do it is due to delusion
because bad luck and fate
are playing in unison
the music plays on
life’s bittersweet tune is never gone
