I Wonder

i wonder
if it could have been different
i wonder,
if there were other options
things that could have been done
things that could have been changed
i wonder
i wonder,
if there was another conclusion
that my life could have been different
and that this one was just an illusion
i wonder,
if the changeable stormy seas
or the twisty adaptable tress
could ever have consumed me
i wonder,
if it could have been different
i wonder,
if there was another possible outcome
or was it all set in stone when i was young
