Reach Out
i wish you could rest your head –
upon my shoulder
i wish i could say to you
or tell you how to be okay
when i saw you this morning
it was hard to know what to say
do not tie your feelings up
do not them push them away
do not become entangled in guilt
we are taught never to look
to never experience,
or feel what is around us
life can turn from a roller coaster
to a treadmill
without any actual realisation
and you know –
i went through your situation
and secretly, from afar,
i have always thought,
what a beautiful person you are
i know you could cry
until every emotion had escaped
and all your hope had run dry
i wish you could rest your head –
upon my shoulder
i hate to see you shiver –
please do not feel so much colder
