I Am Scared

i am scared
that my own mind
will swallow me up
and consume me
that ideas –
and imagination
will kidnap me
and take me –
somewhere else
where i do –
not know myself
i am wondering
if trains of thought
will carry me away
to more –
fanciful destinations
that are never real
i wonder if dreams
will be something i feel
as my mind takes me –
to places less real
