Working for a Living Life – Monday 9th December 1996

Working for a Living Life

i shared my dares
just to be a hero
who so wants to care
you will never exactly know
what it is that i feel
for that is what i am
you can touch my aura
as i gently hold your hand
i was the kid they never wanted
because i was not part of the gang
i am the kid they taunted
i am the kid still going strong
i have always been haunted
by the people of you
in the life i have lived
and the stories that came true
duty is a maidens game
as she waxes lyrical
and wonders if we are a name
or a face too farcical
that peers through life’s window frame
i shared my dares
and the time i blamed
who do they think they are
daring to be a person
who has come so far
