In The Middle of a Dream – December 1996

In The Middle of a Dream

waking up through a thought
that you learnt off a girl
you talked to at work
she lives in a cosmopolitan world
so she told me
i noticed her fingers were burnt
but still i smiled naively
laughing is a strange thing
i laughed when i woke up
even laughed through my scream
waking up through a thought
that crept, foot heavy as a dream
i am in the frame,
believe me, i am not to blame
this persecution complex
is starting to get on top of me
waking up through a thought
that reminded me of a travesty
of blurred images and sexuality
do what you want, as you please
let someone else take the responsibility
that is what they do
waking up through a thought
that blames you
