Some People Have to Believe (No Matter What the Cost)

some people have to believe
no matter what the cost
it is an obsession
and so much is lost
counter arguments are cast off
reason and rationale
are quickly forgot
evidence is pushed aside
some people have to believe
it comes from inside
a flower that blossoms
watered by tears they cry
when answers never arrive
when people have to know
when balance is hard to find
and the pain does not go
some people have to believe
it is all they have
right or wrong does enter into it
people reduced to fragments
of a picture that is not true
obsession, with altered rules of engagement
