Thirty Three and Married (It Is Not 1953)

at thirty three
i should be,
”settled down with kids”
did you think of this
as you stood there
and did the ironing
maybe it was,
whilst you were doing the housework
or maybe it was,
when you cleaned the dishes
somehow, and i will just check
i do not think it is 1953
i do not mind your traditional stanch
or the values which,
do mean children have a stable home
but it is crazy to assume
that i must be alone
