Cardboard Box – (Originally Untitled) – Wednesday 7th May 2008

Cardboard Box

they left my ambition
in a cardboard box
lost,
with all those socks
they became consumed
by their own mental health
they,
thought i could live on the wealth
of a nice house
and holidays each year
they were strangely absent
when it came to wiping away the tears
presents,
come and then they went
the spoke of childhood
left rusty and bent
on a buckled wheel
they forgot who they were
and how to feel
