My Story

my life is a story
not like adam and eve
it has got tears and glory
and chapters no one would believe
i have been up and down the tracks
so many times
i have been on the wrong side
i have been on the right
my life is a story
of failed love and lost dreams
and one child’s hope and glory
it has got darkness and beauty beneath
it is full of ghosts
without the sheets
my life is a story
it is one amazing tale
of a boy dragged up by his braces
who was told who would always fail
and through many funny faces
somehow i pulled through
my life is a story
i owe so many, including you
i have been alone
i have been up and down
i have been left to roam
and i have been found wanting alone
my life is a story
an amazing story no one would believe
but i will battle in glory
i will never grieve
