Caught in the Headlights of Traffic (Originally Untitled) – Written August 2005 (Aged 30

Caught in the Headlights of Traffic

i was caught in the glow
o a thousand rainbows
i was washed up on a shore
with the company of many shrieks
i caught the coat tails
of my only true guardian angel
i am just a flawed man
a sometimes bored man
caught in the headlights of traffic
which i cannot stop
and if i stand down
it is because i slept for while
and when i woke up
i could not find my smile
the sky came crashing in
it invaded my dreamscape
and it melded me a feeling
of another pretty face
i was caught in the glow
of a thousand new dawns
and now i cannot let go
