Waited So Long

i waited so long
i tapped my foot
as a spiritual body seller –
gave me the eye
if i’d had a hand full of money
i would have known why
she said, ‘hello’,
and soon it was good
that neon glow
she and the world she lived in
was not real
and that goes for how i feel
why i do not feel good
lucy lept from the sky
to shoot a hero
why did lennon die?
he really did not deserve to go
some people still cry
some were even glad
it seems to mean nothing
some friends said, ‘it is a drag’
but somehow, it seems to mean something
