Confusing Everything – Written November 1995 (Aged 20)

Confusing Everything

in a pretty room
i know it is coming soon
candles and flowing dresses
no time for make up
a face devoid of blemishes
she swans in and then it begins
such a pretty way to be
it all come down –
to what i have within me
if you are still around
do not keep confusing me
you are like the largest –
prettiest room i have ever seen
it is the one i would like to wake up in
after another worlds worst dream
i wanted to drift away
like the sun into the night
but too many times –
i have wanted to hold you tight
you were not ready –
so i remained unsteady
still, with smiles, you feed me
in a pretty room it is you
unlock the chains and set our minds free
i am a believer of most things
i do not really care but what can i see?
it is time for us to cut the pretence
it must seem strange on our own
but do you not think it makes more sense?
