Soul Baring – Written November 1995 (Aged 20)

Soul Baring

believe in me
when you are not there
miss you so terribly
this is the softest i have ever felt
this tenderness could keep out the cold
make some frozen lands melt
believe, that one day we will make it
to exactly where we want to be
believe, that the kid needs their fantasy
please do
believe, that the grown ups need it too
more than most
once the childhood we had
disappears into the past to become a ghost
when you are not there
still cope on my own
but occasionally i get a little scared
but then i warm up
with a little care
at the end of the day, once in a while
we get laid bare
