Temper, Temper – Written August 2008 (Aged 33)

Temper, Temper

i have seen the temper
the one,
which you hope to hide away
i know,
because others have heard the shouting
and others have heard the things you say

i have seen the temper
it sits inside a child who never grew up
the one,
who never ventured into adulthood
someone for whom,
even everything would not be enough

i have seen the rage as it starts to boil
and absolute reason shake the bars
of the cage it finds itself locked in
and maturity, that finds itself under six feet of soil

i have seen the temper
the one,
which you hope to hide away
there is an alarm call, a claxon like sound
and i know all about your anger
the one which can be so readily found
