Hastings Road
this is mine,
these walls,
the windows with peeling paint
it is mine,
it is the home i wanted
previous incarnations of me
have left me disappointed
but i have a map
with happiness now pinpointed
not with a pin
but with a definite dream
i was going to live a horror film
but suddenly i could not scream
this is mine,
a home for me
and there are no shackles on the wall
i feel free,
freedom and entertainment
at least some of what i want to be
