When I Was Seventeen
when i was seventeen
i had all the time in the world
and the universe lay before me
now,
i feel time is fleeting
and i try to savour
each and every meeting
when i was seventeen
life was large and unexplained
i was wide eyed
and ready to tackle the course
time felt like forever
but now i cling to every moment
every second, every hour
because i know now how precious they are
when i was seventeen
i had all the time in the world
and i could see in many directions
i was young and i was scared
now,
i just want people to be there
times was not in short supply
there was so much of it to share
when i was seventeen
