Doll – Written Thursday 7th September 2000 (Aged 25)

Doll

you do not like it
when i get nasty
you say it is unfair
but your memory must be rusty
you used to care
you let me down
and you have got a hollow sound
you are just a doll
you consumed my respect, whole
chewed and swallowed it
you do not like it
when i make digs
well it happens dryly
we have lost the laughter that came in fits
you said no more relationships
you led me on and on
then you let me down
anger cuts like a sword
but instead of blood
it is only words that it draws
from being so adored
to being so bored
from letting me in
to shutting me out these angry outbursts
just reveal the deeper hurt
