What Did I Do Wrong?

why did you hurt me?
what did i do wrong?
you talk about attention
but push away when they come close
why did you hurt me?
all i wanted to do is float
but you were dragging me down
to the bottom of this ocean floor
and with your frown
you wanted to keep me there forever more
why did you hurt me?
what did i do wrong?
i cannot understand why
you said you needed me
perhaps i misheard you
perhaps you meant you did not want to be alone
i could not hear you for the sound of the bed
why did you do this to me
broken promises are broken glass
and broken glass is a broken heart
why did you hurt me
what did i do wrong?
