Keep the Light On – Written November 2000 (Aged 25)

Keep the Light On

keep the light on
it keeps away the sleep demons
that plague my sleep
you may not think they are real
but it is hard to argue
when they are something you feel
demons are of our own making
and these ones keep flowing
keep the light on
it keeps them away
i have read the books on them
but the books do not reveal the reasons
during all earthly seasons
they have preyed on our mental state
when it is weak and tired
they burn our minds with fire
when there is a loose connection in the wires
keep the light on
it keeps them away
they tempt us with solid daydreams
with suspended animation
please keep away the sleep demons
that plague our sleep
keep the light on
