People Misunderstand Power
people misunderstand power
no realising where it lies
people misunderstand racism
i can see it in their eyes
and i feel it in their words
which, by the way, too often lie
people misunderstand discrimination
believe me, they do,
the mistake they make
is to adopt a regular point of view
they confuse personal opinion
with notions of what is actually true
people misunderstand class
the media of course pretends it does
but their vile narratives do not pass
people misunderstand power
