Locals – Written Sunday 22nd Monday 2020 (Aged 45)

Locals

they sang and danced
in our local pub
despite the experts
saying we must stay indoors
they,
all think of themselves
their lives,
a casualty of their own selfishness
they thought it was funny
to defy the rules
in this post ruth, post expert world
where their stupidity
has become very vocal
they just looked like locals in a local pub
being just too local
the intellectually immature
sup from ignorance
as i wonder if there is a cure
they sang and danced,
and mocked the official advice
when posted on social media,
of course it gathered pace and received likes
they got over excited,
as they danced in our local pub
recording it,
wanting it to be, ‘hopeful’
but they just looked like local sin a local pub
being just too local
