What Were We to Each Other?

i do not feel connected –
to my dad,
no as i feel i should,
i am feeling guilty
and trying to find an extra thing
not ignoring the bad,
or needlessly holding onto the good
but trying to work back
and the the tie, the connection
i do feel exhausted,
as if the years of tiredness,
of our relationship –
have caught up with me
or is it, that having to –
spend so much time in his work
that has made me tired
i am said and i have been upset
tears have fallen and they have flowed
but still, i just do not know
what were we to each other?
